Although gf my walk was significantly longer than I expected, it was still amazing!! I set out at about 7:30 am (having not set any alarm and feeling very rested). I met up with J from Canada (one of the two ladies from Newfoundland that I had walked with the other morning. Her friend K was taking a taxi to the next town as she is suffering from foot issues and needs some medical attention.

We spent the entire walk together and talking about everything under the sun - grandchildren, jobs, places we live, the Camino, etc. Before we left, they told us there would be nothing for 10k until there was a food truck. Since a bathroom break was a necessity, we waited to stop in Calzadilla. That first restaurant/coffee shop in town does a BIG business for this reason. We stopped for coffee and breakfast and then got our stamp (and photos) with the Police Civile there. Talking with someone while walking really makes the time go faster and is much more enjoyable.

Someone marked the way!

So, you may wonder why the title of this is Calzadilla OR Legados OR Terradillos de Templarios. Here is the story! So my hotel info for tonight listed the address as that first town we had coffee in. When I looked at my itinerary sheet for the day, it said to walk 6km past Calzadilla. The town of Legados was where J was staying, so we walked on together. We get there and I put the address into Google Maps to start walking to my hotel and it says I still have 3 more km!!!! I ask the man at the restaurant and he tells me I need to walk right to the outskirts of Terradillos and that is my hotel. So I leave J and plug along down the road. When I finally arrive, I have added an additional 6 1/2 unexpected miles to my walk today. I got my room and immediately went to grab lunch.

Little Oasis Hotel in the Meseta

So my hotel is this little oasis out in the Meseta (wow they must pay a lot for keeping that green out here!!). Since we are outside of town, it has everything right here - a good restaurant, bar, laundry facilities, and a huge green lawn with chairs to relax. After lunch, a shower, and laundry, I felt much better. I met G and R from NJ and we talked all through lunch. This is their second of three Camino sections. They did the first part in June, the second part now, and will return next year to finish. Although, this is not their first Camino journey.

I have to take a photo of every sign showing the kilometers remaining till Santiago. I may make a collage when I get home. Off for a little nap and an early dinner tonight.

Look at that number going down!!!
